Coast Guard Finds Possible Negligence In Fatal Duck Boat Sinking

Federal Prosecutors said in court filings that the U.S. Coast Guard found probable cause that the captain of a duck boat that sank killing 17 people in Branson committed misconduct, negligence or was inattentive to his duties.

In motions filed today, prosecutors asked the federal court based in Kansas City to delay the discovery process in any lawsuits filed against the operators of the Ride The Ducks tours until the criminal investigation is complete.

The boat sank on July 19 when a storm blew in quickly causing the boat to capsize.
