Missourians will pay more for a typical Thanksgiving Meal this year than other people in the United States.
The price is an estimated $5.25 higher in the show-me state than the national average.
According to a recent study by American Farm Bureau a sixteen pound turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, vegetable tray, peas, cranberries, rolls with butter, and two pumpkin pies topped with whipped cream, whole milk and coffee will cost Missourians $54.15 while the national average sits at $48.90.
One of the contributing factors in Missouri’s higher than average cost is the Turkey.
Turkey prices in Missouri average $1.56 per pound while the national average is $1.36.
