The Better Business Bureau is providing some tips to minimize gift return distress.
According to the organization it is important to know stores are not legally required to accept items or refund, exchange, or credit unless goods were defective or misrepresented.
The bureau suggests to ask the store about its return policy.
Ask for a gift receipt and enclose it with the gift.
Don’t assume that regular policies apply to sale or clearance items, and save your receipt.
