Mexico School Superintendent Dr. Zach Templeton Discusses Elementary School Reconfiguration

Mexico Superintendent Dr. Zach Templeton stopped in the KXEO Studios this (Thursday) morning to discuss elementary school reconfiguration.

When will the reconfiguration be implemented and what will need to be done during the process?

What is the major benefit of the reconfiguration?

How will students living in Mexico be divided between Hawthorne and Eugene Field?

The Mexico School board voted pass the elementary school reconfiguration 5-2 in vote taken earlier this week.

Nate Birt, Scott Hobbs, Kelli Teel, Dustin Pascoe, and Scott Nichols all voted for the reconfiguration, while Heather DeMint and Brian Rowe voted against it.

The measure will send Pre-K through Kindergarten to McMillan, and first through fifth grade will be divided between Hawthorne and Eugene Field.
