SSM Health reports 24 employees will be impacted after today’s announcement they will be closing 2 key departments due to staffing issues and low patient volumes.
According to a release, the departure of an OB/GYN and a pediatrician, as well as the inability to acquire anesthesia services for after hours, weekend and holidays has led to several changes that will take effect February 28.
The Mexico location will be closing the Women’s Health Clinic and the Pediatrics clinic, and will no longer be performing surgeries except during business hours.
SSM reports they are working with each of the 24 employees to identify other positions open within SSM Health.
The announcement comes after SSM entered into an Intent To Transfer Ownership agreement with MU Healthcare in August of 2018.
