The Mexico City Council has approved the rezoning of three properties on Josephine Street and will delegate more funds to the new Hardin Park playground equipment.
A public hearing was held after the Mexico Zoning Commission approved a request by Lance Grooms to allow the construction of two duplexes on vacant lots at 113, 115 and 117 Josephine Street. There was no feedback received from neighboring homeowners.
Surplus funds from other capitol improvement projects allowed for an enhancement to the planned playground equipment, designed to be recognizable as a train.
An aerial photography bid came in $500 above the $15 thousand dollar budget from Suredex. The project will be useful in the engineering department. High resolution photos will be taken in a time frame when there is no snow and no leaves on to block the views of city. The last time aerial photography of Mexico was in 2012.
The council approved the purchase of a new spreader box and snow plow for a truck that was purchased several moths ago. Purchase price is $23,889.50.
