Mexico Police and Audrain County Sheriff’s Office Respond to Multiple Weather Related Calls

Mexico Public Safety says they responded to numerous calls for service during the winter storm over the weekend.

34 crashes, slide-offs, or stranded motorists.

There were two incidents of public safety assisting the staff from the Audrain Ambulance District in getting patients from their homes to the ambulance.

The only weather related injury reported so far was from a tow strap breaking and striking a person’s leg while they were trying to get a vehicle pulled free.

Audrain County Sheriff’s Department reports just 6 weather related calls from Friday until this (Monday) morning.

Sheriff Oller says for the most part it seemed like people heeded the warnings from MODOT and the sheriff’s department of staying off the roads during the storm with no injuries.
