Better Business Bureau Provides Tips On Government Shutdown Scams

Congressional leaders and President Donald Trump are announcing they have reached an agreement to end the partial shutdown and fund the government until February 15th.

While hundreds of thousands of government workers missed paychecks during the 35 day standoff many organizations tried to help.

The Better Business Bureau is warning people to be careful of where you donate to.

According to the Better Business Bureau this shutdown has opened the door for scams.

The organization is offering the following tips to avoid being scammed.

Support food banks and other social service charities. Be wary of newly created entities.

The Better Business Bureau has a list of their accredited charities on their website of VisitGive.org.
