Residents and employees of the seven veterans homes in Missouri will not be allowed to use medical marijuana.
Missouri Veterans Commission Executive Director Grace Link said today [Monday] the state must prohibit the use of medical marijuana in order to comply with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, who consider pot an illegal drug.
Federal funds pay a portion of the operation costs of the homes, and officials don’t want to jeopardize that revenue.
The announcement could impact around 1.350 residents.
