An Illinois man is now charged after allegedly assaulting two corrections officers at the Callaway County Jail on January 27.
The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office reports 31 year old Shaun Rose of East St. Louis, Illinois was transferred to the jail from the Jefferson City Correctional Center for a court hearing.
The two officers were attempting to escort Rose within the jail when Rose vigorously attacked them. One of the officers was transported to a local hospital for treatment of the injuries sustained in the assault.
Rose has since been returned to the prison.
