Missouri Rep Works Toward A Survivors Bill Of Rights

A Missouri State Representative has filed a bill that looks to modify the time limitation for commencing an action of sexual offenses, while also establishing a Survivors’ Bill of Rights for victims.

Representative Cora Faith Walker’s bill would increase the statute of limitations for some offenses to 10 years.

The bill also would ensure that every victim of a sexual offense is guaranteed a free shower after being examined by a forensic specialist, clean clothing, post-coital contraception and person of support to be present during the examination.

It would also make sure the victim is provided with a free copy of the police report within 5 days.
