Hallsville School District Sends Second Letter To Parents On Threat Investigation

The Hallsville School District is responding to parents concerns over an investigation last week into alleged threats at the middle school.

The district notified parents of the threat investigation from last week on Monday.

Some parents voiced concern at the school board meeting on Monday night about not being notified in a timely manner.

Superintendent John Downs sent a follow up letter to parents yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon saying the investigation was started by Hallsville Middle School Principal Ty Sides after he was alerted by a parent of a perceived threat her child heard in class involving a student mentioning a hit list.

The investigation included the Boone County Sheriff’s Office concluded last week on Friday and it was determined no list was ever created or existed, and neither students nor staff were in danger or harm.
