A higher overall morale is being reported for Columbia police officers after a recent survey.
The Columbia Police Officers Association conducted the most recent survey and when compared to the last survey in 2016 it showed 91 percent of the officers said working conditions were improved or significantly improved.
Morale is improved 76 percent, and officers said the morale of their co-workers had improved by 91 percent.
The most recent survey conducted after former City Manager Mike Matthes resigned and before former Police Chief Ken Burton left.
Since then interim City Manager John Glascock and Interim Police Chief Geoff Jones took over as part of several major changes in leadership.
