Missouri Senate Passes Legislation Making It Tougher To Impeach Top Officials

Legislation is now passed by the Missouri Senate that will make it harder to impeach top officials.

Missouri senators passed the legislation yesterday (Thursday) on a 25-8 vote.

According to Senate Majority Leader Caleb Rowden nothing in the legislation would have changed the process and how it played out with Governor Eric Greitens, stating that Greitens resigned his position before a House investigations committee could vote on his impeachment.

The constitutional amendment will now go to the house and if passed by the full Legislature, it would then be subject to a statewide public vote.
