Missouri Attorney General Sues Missouri Town Over Ticket Quotas

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt announced yesterday [Thursday] he is suing a Missouri town for enforcing ticket quotas to generate additional municipal revenue.

The lawsuit stems from a picture taken by a whistleblower familiar with the operations of the City of Diamond.

The Attorney General’s Office reports there is a photo of a white board inside the Diamond Police Department that read “We R $5,000 B hind issue some tickets RFN (RFN meaning “right [expletive] now”).”

The instruction is a violation of statutes of Senate Bill 5.
