Flight Diverted From Columbia Airport

A United Airlines Flight to Columbia from Chicago made a detour to Des Moines, Iowa last night [Friday] after attempting multiple attempts to land.

According to Flightaware.com, the plane departed O’Hare International Airport at 3:58 with an anticipated landing at 5:35 in Columbia.

The flight circled Columbia Regional Airport twice before being diverted to Iowa.

The plane went to Des Moines because fog around the airport made it difficult for the pilot to see the runway.
