Talks between the Los Angeles Lakers and Mexico, Missouri native Tyronn Lue about the head coaching position have reportedly completely collapsed.
According to reports from ESPN the sides were unable to agree on contract terms.
The Lakers wanted to offer Lue just a three year deal worth about 20 million.
Lue wanted a longer deal more in line with his status as a championship-winning coach.
Also among the factors leading to the breakdown was the Lakers management insisting they have final say over the choice of Lue’s assistant coaches.
It is not clear if either Lue or the Lakers will revive their negotiations.
