A final vote on a restrictive abortion bill could be taken in the Missouri House of Representatives today (Friday).
The Missouri Senate passed HB126 also known as the heartbeat bill earlier this week.
If the bill is passed it would outlaw abortion procedures after eight weeks of pregnancy and allows exceptions only in cases of medical emergencies, not rape or incest.
Republicans have a 144-46 majority in the House, and the bill will most likely be passed on the final day of the legislative session.
Governor Mike Parson, is in support of the bill and has indicated if it reaches his desk he will sign it into law.
