Governor Parson Activating Missouri National Guard In Response To Tornadoes and Flooding

The Missouri National Guard is now activated in response to damaging tornadoes and flooding.

Governor Mike Parson signed an executive order yesterday (Monday).

Guard units will be sent to Chariton County for sandbagging to reinforce a stressed levee close to Brunswick.

The guard will also be staging and utilizing high-water vehicles to support flood response operations in Jefferson City.

Governor Parson says there is an elevated risk or potentially damaging severe storms for much of the state today (Tuesday).
