Kansas City slugger Whit Merrifield crushed a pair of home runs.
The Royals are riding a season high tying three game win streak.
There is no crying in baseball however there are broken noses.
Washington Nationals ace and St. Louis native Max Scherzer inadvertently struck himself in the face with a batted ball while practicing bunting during batting practice last (Tuesday) night.
The incident resulted in a broken beak for Scherzer, and his status to pitch his regularly scheduled start tomorrow (Wednesday) has not yet been decided.
