Today (Monday) is the opening of Mexico’s Safety Town.

It will be taking place at the St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Safety town is annual event that is a miniature layout built of Mexico to the scale of a kindergarten child.

Instruction includes pedestrian, motorist, bus, stranger, police, fire, railroad crossings, bicycle, drugs,water, electrical, and general play and home safety.

There will be two sessions daily from 8 to noon, and from 5:30 until 8.

The event wraps up on Friday.
