Moberly Police have identified the suspect in an incident in which a man allegedly threatened a woman and a law enforcement officer with a hammer yesterday [Friday] afternoon.
The department reports 23 year old Dwane Long has been formally charged with second and third degree domestic assault, kidnapping, unlawful use of a weapon and property damage.
According to law enforcement, police were called to the 500 block of Franklin Avenue and found Long threatening to harm a 37 year old female.
Arriving units located Long on the front porch and he allegedly threatened the first officer on the scene with the hammer before retreating into the home.
Officers set up a perimeter and began efforts to communicate with him. He surrendered without further incident a short time later.
