The newly constructed rural roundabout located at Scott’s Corner is set to open on Friday.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, rural roundabouts have shown an 82 percent reduction in severe crashes. The roundabout’s purpose is to slow drivers down on a higher speed highway.
MoDOT worked with a citizen advisory group to find the best solution to the safety issue at the intersection of Highway 54 and Missouri 19.
