The Centralia Police Department is urging parents to not allow children to carry realistic looking BB guns when walking around town.
The warning is prompted by an incident early this morning [Monday] when officers responded to a call of a suspicious man with a gun. Two juveniles were located and one was found to be in possession of a BB gun. The individuals were detained and no shots were fired.
In the social media post, Police Chief Robert Bias says “I am making this post in a hope to avoid this in the future where an individual will not be injured or killed for carrying a BB gun.”
