ESPN is reporting that Mexico, Missouri’s NBA Championship winning Coach Tyronn Lue is close to a deal with the Los Angeles Clippers to become a top assistant coach on Doc Rivers’ staff.
Lue was fired as Cleveland’s head coach six games into last season.
He was a top candidate to become the Los Angeles Lakers’ head coach until negotiations broke down earlier this summer.
Doc Rivers has remained close with Lue, who was an assistant on Rivers’ staff in Boston and with the Clippers before.
The Columbia College Cougars Women’s Volleyball team is being ranked in the top 5 in the nation in a Preseason Poll.
The NAIA Women’s Volleyball Coaches Poll was released yesterday (Wednesday) with the Cougars ranked second.
The team went 42-5 last season and won the 2018 AMC tournament championship.
The volleyball team opens its season on Tuesday, August 27th in Fulton against Westminster College at 7 pm.
The St. Louis Cardinals completed a 2 game sweep and second consecutive shut out of the Kansas City Royals 6-0 last (Wednesday) night at Kauffman Stadium.
The Cardinals were no hit for six innings and then came alive in the 7th behind Matt Carpenter and Marcell Ozuna.
The Redbirds won their fifth straight and are now tied for first place in the National League Central Division with the Chicago Cubs.
