Medical Marijuana Licenses Expected To Be Granted By End Of 2019
The state of Missouri has received more than 2100 applications for businesses to run medical marijuana facilities.
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reports that more than half of the applicants were seeking to operate one of the 192 dispensaries the state plans license.
As of yesterday [Tuesday] the state has received 554 applications for one of the 60 available licenses for cultivation facilities.
Missouri legalized medical marijuana in November and the state anticipates it will license businesses by the end of the year.
The industry is expected to top $100 million in sales in the next 5 years.
