Hannibal Man Crashes Truck During Chase With Audrain County Sheriff’s Deputies

A Hannibal man is in the Audrain County Jail after an arrest by the Audrain County Sheriff’s Department yesterday (Thursday) were he took troopers on a chase that ended in a crash.

According to the department a K-9 unit tried to stop a truck that was going Eastbound on Highway 54 around 2:13 yesterday (Thursday) afternoon.

Deputies say the driver of the truck 28 year old Michael Anthony Robinson tried to get away and turned onto Audrain Road 834, while going down the road a male passenger in the vehicle jumped as the truck was going at a high rate of speed.

Upon nearing an intersection Robinson lost control and hit a utility pole guide wire and overturned into a ditch.

During the investigation, Sheriff’s Deputies located materials and components of a methamphetamine laboratory, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia within the truck.

Robinson was arrested on several outstanding arrest warrants and other charges are pending.
