Mexico Public Safety Responds To Three Separate Fire Calls On Same Day

Mexico Public Safety is reporting responding to several calls involving fires yesterday (Tuesday).

The first call was around 10:49 yesterday (Tuesday) morning in the 500 block of Holt Street.

A resident was burning items in a barrel, however the fire spread out of the barrel, catching some nearby items on fire.

It was contained and extinguished with no injuries.
The second call around 5:04 pm in the 300 block of East Promenade where construction material was being burned.

That fire was also put out with no property damage or injuries.
The third fire was last (Tuesday) night just after 7 in the 600 block of Pinelawn Court and involved a vehicle.

Public Safety says a 2001 Volkswagen, parked in a driveway, had fire coming from the engine compartment.

It was determined it started in the area of the driver’s side headlight due to an electrical issue.

The engine compartment suffered significant damage, no injuries reported.
