School administrators around the area will be keeping an eye on the skies tonight for Friday Night Football.
Mexico High School Activities Director Travis Blevins says lightning will be the only thing to stop tonight’s homecoming game against the Clinton Cardinals. [Friday]
Blevins says in the event of severe weather, fans would be told to go to their cars while players, coaches and officials would go under the stands.
In the event of lightning, there would be a required 30 minute lightning-free pause in the game. Each time it flashes or strikes would lead to another 30 minute delay.
Game officials will be monitoring the weather, and administrators would make a determination if lightning is continuous.
