A Mexico man is in the Audrain County Jail after a traffic stop and short pursuit last (Thursday) night.
According to the Audrain County Sheriff’s Department a K9 unit tried to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 400 block of South Clark Street in Mexico.
After a short pursuit 36 year old Joseph Lee Lovell was arrested in the 600 block of Quisenberry Street.
Deputies report a search lead to the discovery of over 30 grams of methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, multiple social security administration cards of other people and 2 loaded firearms, along with $757.00 in cash.
Lovell remains in jail pending the filing of formal charges by the Audrain County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
