The Washington Nationals the 2019 World Series Champions after defeating the Houston Astros 6-2 in game 7 last (Wednesday) night.

It is the first title in the 51 seasons of the Washington/Montreal Expos franchise.

Stephen Strasburg was voted MVP of the World Series.

He went 5-0 with a 1.98 ERA in 5 postseason starts and one relief appearance, including wins in Games 2 and 6 of the series.

The St. Louis Blues with a 2-1 win over the Minnesota Wild. Alex Pietrangelo scored the tie breaking goal in the 3rd period, and Jordan Binnington made 35 saves for the Blues.

St. Louis has won 4 of their last 5 games.

More bad news for the NBA’s Golden State Warriors as guard Stephen Curry suffered a broken left hand after a hard fall in last (Wednesday) night’s game against the Phoenix Suns.

The Warriors have started the season 1-3, and are already playing without star Klay Thompson, who is recovering from an ACL injury to his left knee, and Kevon Looney, who dealing with a neuropathic condition that will keep him out for at least 3 more games.

Curry has an MRI and CT scan scheduled, and from there, the team will determine if he needs surgery and what his recovery timetable will be.
