The Mexico Board of Education met in a work session Wednesday to discuss the contract with ATG, the company they chose to build the soccer field at the high school and to pit artificial turf on the football field and the baseball infield.
A motion was made to approve the contract pending final approval by the district’s attorney.
A version of the contract previously reviewed by the attorney was lacking a portion regarding ATG paying damages to the district if the project is not completed by the beginning of the season.
Additionally, the district will be saving approximately $30 thousand by shortening the distance between home plate and the back stop at the baseball field.
