Many major leaguers hit the golf course during off days, go fishing, or just relax.

St. Louis Cardinals manager Mike Shildt with other plans today as he is getting married.

The 51 year old Shildt had his wedding party attending last night’s game in West Palm Beach, Florida against Washington.

Several members of the Cardinals organization are expected to attend to the ceremony, but Shildt purposefully did not invite any players.

Shildt said these guys know I love them, but one of the ways you show love is not to feel like they have got to, on their day off, go to their manager’s wedding.

Cardinals reliever John Brebbia joked that some players may crash the festivities by having a giant Cardinal bird wheeled into the wedding and then they punch through the feathers of it and all come out dancing around.
