The staff at the Mexico Area YMCA are taking extra precautions this flu season.
Staff will be cleaning objects that are touched frequently, like doorknobs, water fountains, light switches and countertops on a regular basis throughout the day.
They ask that members wash hands and use hand sanitizer frequently, clean equipment before and after a workout with the spray and towels provided, and use tissues or cover your mouth or nose when sneezing or coughing.
Additionally, sports equipment and toys will be disinfected after use and at the end of the day.
Also understand the reluctance of staff members or other members to shake hands or be in close contact.
