The Jefferson City Jays introducing a new high school football coach yesterday.

Scott Bailey will take over with an impressive resume.

Bailey has won 7 state championships while coaching football at Lamar High School.

He also has coached middle school football teams and at the collegiate level.

He was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.

In addition to coaching at the Jefferson City High School, he will teach strength and conditioning.

For the second year in a row, St. Louis Blues defenseman Jay Bouwmeester is nominated for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy.

One player from each team is nominated for the trophy, which is awarded to the NHL player who best exemplifies perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to the game.

The 31 team nominees will be narrowed to 3 finalists before the NHL Awards.
