A third St. Louis Cardinal has tested positive for the coronavirus.

Yesterday (Sunday) prospect Elehuris Montero’s test results were confirmed.

He joins pitchers Ricardo Sanchez and Genesis Cabrera who’s test results were reported on Friday.

All are asymptomatic.

St. Cardinals manager Mike Schildt says the good news is that none of the players were able to enter into the work area and the team has tracing protocols in place.

Kansas City Royals skipper Mike Matheny became the first manager to say he was diagnosed with COVID-19.

According to MLB.com Matheny said in a conference call on Saturday he had contacted the coronavirus about a month ago.

He was symptomatic and quarantined with his wife, who tested negative.

Additionally, according to MLB.com, Royals catcher Salvador Perez said that he too tested positive.

He is currently asymptomatic and expects to be tested again this week, once he is cleared, he can join the team.
