The Van-Far Schools are announcing today (Thursday) they are canceling in-person learning and extracurricular activities due to a positive COVID-19 test by a high school student.
Virtual learning will start tomorrow, (Friday) August 28th, and in person classes are scheduled to resume on September 10th.
Van-Far Superintendent John Fortney said the decision was a preventative move after looking at the number of close contacts, staff included and not a directive of Audrain County Health.
An asymptomatic high student that tested positive is working with the administration and the Audrain County Health Department for a contact log.
The student is in quarantine.
