The Kansas City Royals announced yesterday (Sunday) that they have agreed to a 4-year contract extension with catcher Salvador Perez.
Terms of the deal were not released however reports say the extension contract ranges between 18 million and 22 million with a 13.5 million club option or 2 million dollar buyout.
The 30-year-old is coming off a 2020 season in which he was named American League Comeback Player of the Year.
In Spring Training Baseball yesterday (Sunday) the Kansas City Royals defeated the Colorado Rockies 6-1.
The Royals are back at it this afternoon against the San Diego Padres with a 3:05 start.
The St. Louis Cardinals were off yesterday and will return to play today against the Miami Marlins with a 12:05 first pitch.
