A new emergency mass notification system is now available to Audrain County residents.
The Audrain County Emergency Management Agency made the announcement today (Tuesday) that Audrain County Joint Communications is partnering with Inspiron Logistics to offer Wireless Emergency Notification System or WENS to residents.
The system requires users to sign up for the free service with their phone number so that they can be notified of an emergency situation affecting their area.
According to Audrain Joint Communications Director Amanda Crewse, there is also a place for users to put in any special needs they have so that dispatchers can alert responders to those.
Sign up buttons for the service can be found on the home pages of http://www.audraincounty.org and at http://www.audrain911.org.
