Ribbon Cutting Held For New Auxvasse Community Building

The new Auxvasse Community Center is now open following a ribbon cutting this (Saturday) afternoon.

State officials and Lions dignitaries praised the community for coming together to support the building project.

Donal Knipp, a Lions member for more than 53 years spearheaded the project and served as master of ceremonies.

Knipp says while the building is owned on paper by Auxvasse Community Builders, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Auxvasse Lions Club, that isn’t exactly accurate.

In the event the Lions Club disbands or the building can no longer be run and would need to be sold, there is a contingency plan.

The ceremony concluded with a whole hog roast for those in attendance.
