The Mexico Bulldogs football won their home opener 32 to 7 over the Southern Boone Eagles tonight (Friday).
Mexico would never trail in the game.
The Bulldogs defense held as Southern Boone attempted 2 field goals in the first half missing both.
Mexico would score the first touchdown of the game at the 9:25 mark in the second quarter going 69 yards in 2 minutes and 32 seconds.
Michael White capped off the drive with a 22 yard rushing touchdown.
After missing the extra point the Bulldogs took a 6-0 lead into halftime.
Neither team scored in the 3rd quarter.
Mexico would take a 12-0 lead on a 57 yard rushing touchdown from Andrew Runge.
The Bulldogs would score again at the 5:44 mark in the 4th quarter on a 15 yard quarterback from Ty Simms.
Southern Boone would score for the first and only time in the fourth quarter on a 58 yard touchdown pass from Hayden Steelman to Kellen Ash and it was 19-7 Bulldogs.
Mexico fullback Jaden Hatfield visited the end-zone with a 28 yard touchdown run making it 25-7.
To cap off the night Andrew Runge picked off a pass for and returned for a forty-yard touchdown.
The 9th ranked Mexico Bulldogs are now 2-0 on the season and will host Orchard Farm next week.
