The Mexico Bulldogs Girls Softball Team defeated the Marshall Owls 12-4 on the road last (Monday) night.

Jordyn Thurman led her team at the plate when runners were on base, driving in 4 on 3 hits.

Thurman drove in runs on a double in the first, a triple in the fourth, and a double in the 7th.

Taylor DeMint was 3-4 with 2 RBI and 2 stolen bases.

Mexico scattered 14 hits in the game.

Taylor DeMint, Riley Thurman, Shianna Exendine and Lexie Willer each racked up multiple hits for the Lady Bulldogs.

Madeline Williams helped Mexico in a three run 7th inning.

Mexico’s Riley Thurman stole 2 bases, and the team stole 7 bases in total in the game.

The Community R6 Lady Trojans defeated New Franklin 6-3. Community Head Coach Kody Asquith said Shelby Clark pitched a really good game and had a solid defense behind her all night.

Juniors Kayla Jett and Ivy Hays both had really good plays out in the outfield that saved a few runs for the Lady Trojans.

The St. Louis Cardinals rolled to their 9th straight win as they defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 5-2 last (Monday) night.

Cardinals starting pitcher Jon Lester, pitching in his 16th season in the big leagues, notched career win number 200.

The victory also kept St. Louis 3 games ahead of the Cincinnati Reds for 2nd National League Wild Card spot, with the Redbirds’ magic number to clinch now at 10.

The Kansas City Royals swept a double header over the Cleveland Indians on the road yesterday (Monday).

In game 1 Royals catcher Salvador Perez hit his 46th home run of the season in a 7-2 victory.

Perez, passed Johnny Bench for the most home runs in a season by a primary catcher.

The Royals then defeated the Indians 4-2 in game 2 of the doubleheader.
