Mexico Wrestling’s Grant Van Horn took home 5th place at the State Tournament yesterday (Thursday) in Columbia.

In girls basketball district play last (Thursday) night, championship matchups are set.

In Class 1, Community R-6 will take on Wellsville-Middletown for the District 10 championship tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 in Madison.

In Class 2, Cairo and Silex vie for the District 5 title tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 in Sturgeon while in District 7, it’s Salisbury taking on New Franklin tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 in New Franklin.

For Class 3, the District 5 champion will either be Duchesne or Louisiana with that game tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 at Duchesne and South Shelby and Palmyra vie for the District 6 championship tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 in Monroe City.

In District 7, Montgomery County and Hermann meet up tomorrow afternoon at 1:00.

The final road game of the regular season did not go the way the Mizzou Tiger women wanted it to.

Despite a season high 26 points from senior guard Lauren Hansen, it wasn’t enough to pull off a win with Ole Miss taking it 72 – 64.

The Tigers round out the season at home Sunday against Florida, tip off set for 2:00.

For the second week in a row, the St. Louis Battlehawks get a come from behind victory.

They were in Seattle last night taking on the Sea Dragons and fell behind early, but just like last week, pulled out a win in the fourth quarter 20 – 18.

The Battlehawks improve to 2-0 while the Sea Dragons fall to 0-2 on the young season.

The Blues dropped a home game to the Canucks last night, 3-2.

They stay home tomorrow facing the Penguins at 2:30.
