Governor Parson Orders Flags At Half-Staff In Honor Of Vandalia And Bowling Green Correctional Officer Kelly Bernard Rolando

Governor Mike Parson ordered all U.S. and Missouri flags to fly at half-staff at Northeast Correctional Center, the Missouri Department of Corrections’ headquarters in Jefferson City, and all government buildings in Pike County from sunrise to sunset on October 26, 2023, as a mark of respect for Missouri Correctional Officer Kelly Bernard Rolando.

Officer Kelly Bernard Rolando was one of two people killed in a head-on-collision on the Highway 54 bypass in Mexico on Sunday night.

Rolando served for seven years as a Correction Officer with the Missouri Department of Corrections, serving both the Women’s Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center in Vandalia and the Northeast Correctional Center in Bowling Green.

Flags will be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset.

Rolando’s funeral will take place at 4:30pm at the Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green.
