Mexico High School Student Athletes Recognized At Sports Banquet
The Mexico High School sports complex hosted the Senior Sports Banquet on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.
Mexico High School Athletic Director Brandon Schafer told the audience the senior athletes from the Class of 2024 had a collective cumulative grade point of over 3.4 and truly represented the school as student athletes.
Jordyn Thurman and Brendan McKeown were named the 2024 Bill Johnson Memorial Award winners.
The Bill Johnson Memorial Award is given out annually to the best boy and girl athlete at Mexico High School who exemplify outstanding achievement on the field of play and in the classroom as voted on by the head coaches of all sports in Mexico.
Thurman was a star on the softball field and basketball court and is headed to Mizzou to play softball.
McKeown is a two-time state qualifier in tennis.
