Mexico Teen Hospitalized After Being Shot Accidentally In Home

A Mexico teen was taken to the hospital after being shot a residence in Mexico during the afternoon hours of Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

Mexico Public Safety says officers were dispatched to the 500 block of North Abat just after 3pm.

Officers arrived and found an 18-year-old man sustained a gun shot wound in the home.

Audrain Ambulance District transported him to University Hospital in Columbia, where he was admitted for treatment.

Mexico Public Safety reports the initial investigation indicates he was shot by accident by someone else in the home.

The investigation is continuing.
