The Mexico High School girls softball team lost 8-6 to Kirksville in Mexico on Monday, September 30, 2024.

Mexico is 9-12 on the season.

Mexico is back at it tonight (Tuesday) for another North Central Missouri Conference game against Marshall.

The Mexico High School volleyball team lost to Boonville in four sets at the Mexico High School Sports Complex on Monday, September 30, 2024.

Mexico won the first set 28-26.

Lost the second set 26-24.

And dropped the final two sets 25-23 and 25-13.

According to stats from Mexico head coach Katie French, Mexico had 13 Aces as a team.

Claire Isgrig had 5 Aces.

Jaclynn Cline had 15 kills on the night.

Emily Moppin recorded 12 kills.

The St. Louis Cardinals officially announced yesterday (Monday) that they will transition from John Mozeliak to Chaim Bloom as the team’s president of baseball operations, however, it is going to be another year before it happens.

During the press conference at Busch Stadium, it was announced that the 41-year-old Bloom, had agreed to a five-year contract to take over the position, which will begin when Mozeliak’s current contract expires and he retires after the 2025 season.

Bloom, the former head of baseball operations for the Boston Red Sox, had been working for the Cardinals as an advisor since January.

The Kansas City Royals announced their starting rotation for their best-of-three series against the Baltimore Orioles that will get underway on Tuesday, October 2, 2024.

Cole Ragans gets the start in Game 1 today (Tuesday), Seth Lugo will go in Game 2, and Michael Wacha in Game 3.

Major League Baseball, banished him in 1989 for gambling on the game, issued a brief statement expressing condolences.

The NBA announced yesterday (Monday) that Dikembe Mutombo died of brain cancer at the age of 58.

Mutombo’s family revealed two years ago he was undergoing treatment in Atlanta for a brain tumor.

The NBA said he died surrounded by his family.
