Mexico Public Safety Department Report 10/16/2024

Calls for service:

Mexico Public Safety Department responded to the following calls for service on Tuesday, October 15, 2024:

  • Domestic verbal incident on South Coal.
  • Stealing or theft at Rock Springs Drive.
  • Unwanted subject at the Hassen apartment building.
  • Suspicious person on Bougainville.
  • Trespassing at the North Western apartment building.

Car accidents:

Mexico Public Safety responded to two separate vehicle accidents on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

According to the Mexico Public Safety accident report they responded to a one-car accident on the Highway 54 bypass on Tuesday night.

A vehicle driven by 61-year-old Phillip Martin of Hannibal was traveling north on Highway 54 and struck a deer in the roadway.

The vehicle received significant front-end damage and was towed from the scene.

No injuries were reported.

Mexico Public Safety responded to a three-car accident in the 1000 block of West Monroe/Morris.

According to the Mexico Public Safety accident report it happened when all three vehicles were facing east in the yield lane on West Monroe.

A vehicle driven by 18-year-old Isaac Gifford of Mexico drove forward and crashed into the rear of a vehicle driven by 25-year-old Tyler Hatcher of Centralia.

Hatcher’s vehicle moved forward from the collision and crashed into the back of a vehicle driven by 21-year-old T’Kiyah Owens of Mexico.

No injuries were reported.
