Van-Far Wins Big At Home Against Hayti In District Playoffs

The Van-Far Indians defeated Hayti 56-6 in the class one district one quarter finals of the high school playoffs on Saturday, November 9, 2024.

The Van-Far offense was spearheaded in tonight’s game against Hayti by senior running back Tyson Douglas, who managed to score two touchdowns in the first quarter.

This combined with a defense that intercepted the ball twice in the first quarter allowed for Van-Far to get off to a hot start.

The second quarter started with another big run for a third Tyson Douglas touchdown.

In the second quarter Carson Huff got his second pick in the game, while also picking up a receiving touchdown thrown by quarterback Reese Culwell.

This hot Van-Far start showed as they started the second half up 40-6.

The Indians did not let off the gas as they began the second half with a kick off return touchdown.

The Douglas family continued their success as Tyson and Malik’s younger brother Cayden scored the Van-Far Indians final point of the game.

With this win, Van-Far is set to play the 10-0 St. Vincent Indians.

This game will take place in Perryville on November 16th.
