The Community R6 Lady Trojans basketball team defeated the Van-Far Lady Indians 33-24 in Laddonia on Monday, November 25, 2024.
Community scoring leaders included Peyton Beamer with 11 points and 5 assists.
Aaliyah Welch with 9 points and 6 rebounds.
Amy McCurdy with 7 points and 5 rebounds.
Myla Carroll with 3 points.
Jocelyn Curtis with 2 points.
And Rylee Rafferty with 1 point.
Lady Trojans head coach Bob Curtis says “Monday in our first home game our defensive energy was so much better as we shut them out in the first 8 minutes and gave up just 9 pts. in the half.
It was a good thing as our offense went dry in the second half as we had just 11 pts. in the final 16 minutes.
We just half to be better at the FT line as we missed 19 at the charity stripe in this contest.
I like how we are attacking the rim to get fouled and go to the line now we just have to make it hurt when we go there.
Turnovers also have to go down as we need to average more shot attempts to reach our goal of 50 pts. or more every night.”
Community improved to 2-1 on the season.
